On Saturday 10th August 2019, The Invisible Olympic games Project attended the DEAFvibe Cafe in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Project Co-ordinator launched the project in Staffordshire by delivering a very informative and well-received presentation.
The launch and presentation coincided with the 95th Anniversary of the Silent Games which was founded on 10th August 1924, which later became The World Games for the Deaf, then what is now known as the ‘The Deaflympics’. Brian Kokoruwe recognised the important anniversary by cutting a celebratory cake, which was enjoyed by everyone that attended.
Two former Deaflympians, Mark Miller and Clive Morgan were the VIPs who attended to support the event. They were invited to share their memories and to answer questions about past World Games for the Deaf, which they both attended.
